For one night only the Museum of Liverpool teams up with the legendary Cavern Club to bring you This is Merseybeat – a vibrant live show celebrating the music that launched the British invasion and changed pop history forever.
Featuring the Cavern Club’s resident beat combo The Shakers, guest stars portraying icons like Cilla Black and Gerry Marsden, and hosted by Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse actor Paul Codman, this high-energy production recreates the sound, spirit and swagger of Liverpool’s most exciting musical era.
Expect Cavern stompers, Merseybeat classics and rhythm and blues favourites from the artists who defined a generation – including hits made famous by The Beatles, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Billy J Kramer and The Dakotas, Cilla Black, The Searchers, The Swinging Blue Jeans and more.
