Janne Borgh

I am Janne Borgh and my band is called the Borgh Identity. My first ever constellation of people pretending to play music was a band was called The Periwinkles and we played only two gigs. The set list contained of songs by the Beatles and CCR which was quite unfashionable at the time. Both bands had recently broken up and people were into Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. This was probably early 1972, and I was five years behind as usual.
My first guitar was a semi-acoustic, yellow-burst, three-pickup Harmony which was subsequently traded for a Höfner Club bass. The reason for picking up a guitar in the first place was without a doubt thanks to the Beatles and Paul McCartney in particular, which is why I switched to bass. I always played the bass like it was a guitar anyway.

The Beatles, the Who, The Kinks, Lennon & McCartney, Pete Townshend and Ray Davies, thank you for lighting the path, showing me the way and giving me my version of religion…

I am still writing, and consider writing songs my main hobby. Still looking for the perfect power pop song! I released three songs that I wrote while living in London in 2010 under the name Desperate Romantics and now I have finally decided to try and find out where I fit in music today, and to find my own identity… the Janne Borgh Identity …who in 2015 consists of myself on vocals, harmonica and guitar and Peder Brink on guitar and vocals.
