International Beatleweek 2022 Festival celebrates Paul & Ringo at The Philharmonic Hall

Tony Coburn’s Pure McCartney and Grammy award winning songwriter and producer  Mark Hudson come together to put the spotlight on Ringo and Paul and their impressive and ever increasing catalogue of music.

Mark Hudson has worked with artists such as Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson, Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith and Celine Dion.

In 1998, he began working closely with Ringo Starr as producer or co-producer on his next 5 studio albums, starting with Vertical Man and followed by Ringo Rama, Choose Love and Liverpool 8, as well as their 1999 Christmas album. This era was a return to form for Ringo, with much of the material having a more Beatles inspired sound and was even joined by George Harrison and Paul McCartney as guest stars.

Tony Coburn’s Pure McCartney

In 2018 the band played the Philharmonic Hall as part of the Lennon & McCartney Songbook, joined by none other than Wings drummer Steve Holley and headlined the festival’s Scousechella event at Grand Central Hall and even made a couple of trips away from Liverpool with gigs at Twisted Wheel in Manchester and Gothenburg Beatle Day in Sweden.

Tony has been paying tribute to Paul for many years now, starting out with his brother Jimmy in The Blue Meanies and now a long time resident musician at The Cavern as a solo acoustic artist and member of The Cavern Club Beatles, the venue’s officially endorsed Beatles tribute band. He has also performed in the West End and on Broadway in internationally acclaimed Beatles stage shows.

After a world-wide search, Tony was chosen by Beatles Engineer, Geoff Emerick, to recreate Paul McCartney’s vocals in ‘The Sessions’ show which toured The UK and Europe culminating in a sold out performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Geoff proclaimed Tony as the closest McCartney vocal he’s ever heard.

This is sure to be a highlight event of International Beatleweek.
