Cavern Originals – Monthly Grassroots Music
The Cavern Club’s monthly showcase of the UK’s best emerging talent returns this December with another unmissable lineup of raw, rising acts ready to make their mark on the legendary Liverpool stage.
Featuring: ACUA, Emily Rhodes and one more act TBA!
ACUA is a psych-pop/alternative band from Cologne.
After over 100 concerts and successful tours across Europe, Canada, the UK and Japan, as well as the release of two studio albums, Head Under Water and Is There More Past Or More Future, ACUA is currently preparing the release of their third album. Patrick (vocals, guitar), Caroline (drums), Maja (synthesizer), and Igor (bass) have built a remarkable reputation through their captivating, hypnotic live shows.
With atmospheric guitars, driving drums, swirling synthesizers, and melodic basslines, ACUA has shared the stage as support act for artists such as FKJ, Darwin Deez, The Japanese House, Sam Evian, and OMNI. They have also performed at prominent festivals like Melt!
Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, Canadian Music Week and Herzberg Festival. This fall they will release a new album and the first singles of it called “Now And Nothing” and „Fearing And Facing The World“ were just released, giving a taste of what’s to come.
“If you put your head under water, everything gets quiet and you can hear nothing but
yourself.”

Combining themes of love, longing and self-expression, Emily’s honest and relatable lyricism brings a sense of positivity and an uplifting energy to listeners. Blending genres of Americana, country, pop, rock and folk, her most recent single Red Button is a bright and energetic track exploring a sense of belief and desire to not give up. Originally from Lancashire, and now based in Liverpool, Emily’s songs have featured on BBC Introducing several times and she was shortlisted for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Introducing competition. Emily has performed across the UK, and closer to home this includes headlining The Jacaranda and sets at venues including Arts Bar Hope Street, Archive at Cains Brewery, The Ferret (Preston), Bootleg Social (Blackpool).
