JOE ASTLEY & THE WALLGATE BAND
“Springsteen meets The Pogues.” – XS Manchester
Joe Astley is a songwriter heard on BBC Introducing, Radio X and XS Manchester. Inspired by early rock ‘n’ roll music and developing a unique songwriting style true to his Irish roots and influences, Joe Astley has mastered his craft as a performer and has the songs to back it up. After a luxury of successful singles all charting in the iTunes top ten, his debut album “Twenty-First Century Times” is out on January 20th, which has been five years in the making.
Now two years after his TV debut on Sky, he is taking to the stage with his powerhouse group The Wallgate Band at the greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Club in the world, where he is a resident artist. His latest single, and first from the album stayed at number two in the Rock Charts for three days, only succeeded by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. His full band includes real strings, brass and some very special guests.
FLECHETTES
“Deliciously uplifting indie these Wigan wonders are going from strength to strength” – Gigslutz
Flechettes consists of Jack Heaton, Johnny Raper, William Watts, and Nicholas Kitts. Formed in 2019, the band have aimed to play as far and wide as possible to share their sound with new audiences. Appearances at the Isle of Wight and Y NOT festivals as well as supporting their good friends from back home, The Lathums and Stanleys on respective tours have been highlights of the boys journey so far. Having recently been recording their 2nd EP, as well as signing up with Time To Shine management in conjunction with LA based label SoundX3, the lads are looking forward to the future.
Flechettes have always been committed to performance and variety, always wanting push themselves and their writing. The band believes the new EP (as of yet untitled) is demonstrative of this, and cannot wait to get it to fans and new fans alike.
THE FACADES
The Facades are a 4-piece band from Wigan formed in early 2020 consisting of Alannah Webb (Vocals and guitar), Evan Armstrong (Lead Guitar), Luke Ashton (Drums) and Sam Bowery (Bass).
Just three songs in and The Facades are already hurtling in the right direction following radio play from BBC Introducing and XS Manchester, shows with Cabbage, The Lottery Winners and Sleeper, and festival sets including the Isle of Wight and Y Not?
Inspired by bands such as Wolf Alice and The Coral, The Facades were formed by Alannah and Evan, who quickly added Sam and Luke to the line-up. They formed just weeks before the first lockdown, but rather than sinking in their misfortune they did the best they could – writing individually and remotely recording demos together before they were finally reunited. It proved to be a blessing in disguise, especially when their second single, a bedroom produced demo ‘Don’t Ask’, was aired on BBC Introducing
COBAIN JONES
‘If you’re the first musician that Manic Street Preachers singer James Dean Bradfield is producing outside of the band for nearly 20 years, you must be a special talent.
Meet Cobain Jones, a firebrand singer-songwriter more electrifying than so many interchangeable troubadour peers of his generation.
