The Cavern Club Wins Best Live Venue Award at Skiddle Awards 2026
The Cavern Club Wins Skiddle Award for One of the UK’s Best Live Venues
The Cavern Club is celebrating another proud moment in its nearly 70-year history after being named one of the best live music venues in the country at the Skiddle Awards 2026.
The award, brilliantly titled “I Lost My Voice In That Place”, was presented at Skiddle’s 25th anniversary party by legendary comedian, actor and presenter Lenny Henry. The category celebrates venues that deliver unforgettable live music experiences, the kind of places where audiences sing, shout, dance and leave with stories to tell.
For The Cavern Club, it is a fitting recognition of a venue that has been at the heart of live music since 1957. From its early days as a jazz cellar to the Merseybeat explosion, from The Beatles’ legendary appearances to today’s packed calendar of live music every day, The Cavern continues to be one of the most famous and loved music venues in the world.
Speaking after the win, Cavern Club Events Director Jon Keats said:
“The Cavern Club has been hosting memorable live gigs for nearly seventy years now, receiving many plaudits and recognition along the way. To win this award in 2026, means that we are still achieving that goal and long may it continue!”
The win is a celebration not just of the venue’s past, but of its present. The Cavern Club remains a living, breathing live music venue, welcoming artists, fans and visitors from across the world to Mathew Street every single week.
With live music on the front stage daily, ticketed shows in the world-famous Live Lounge, and a constant stream of new talent, tribute acts, international performers and special
events, The Cavern continues to prove why it holds such a special place in British music culture.
This latest award adds another chapter to The Cavern’s story. Nearly seven decades on, the cellar still has that magic: the roar of the crowd, the sweat on the walls, the ringing ears, and yes, the lost voices.
Long may it continue.
