The Cavern Club Live Lounge

LIPA Live at the Cavern

Monthly, original music night from LIPA students!

APRIL’S LINE-UP:

8pm: AIMEE AND THE PARADE

With ethereal and punk essences, 5 piece Aimee and the Parade will be performing a theatrical collection of songs sung by Aimee. The band has theatrical influences such as Siouxsie Sioux, Kate Bush and Bjork. Telling stories of everyday with an Alice in Wonderland whimsical twist, join the procession!

8:45pm: HARRY PAYNTER

Harry Paynter is an indie-pop artist inspired by the rich flavours of coming-of-age cliches and unrequited romance. Paynter’s music is a diary-like portrait of his life, a myriad of self-aware sarcasm, big choruses and pop production. Sitting in the same sonic realm as Maisie Peters, Lauv and Nina Nesbitt, Paynter is a pop writer at heart. Amongst writing for k-pop and other artists, his debut single, ‘Tornado Love’, drops later this year.

9:30pm: JAMIE O’NEILL

Jamie O’Neill is an Irish and Cornish indie rock musician. Jamie draws influence from great musicians of the past and present such as Bob Dylan, Ben Howard, Sam Fender and Thin Lizzy to mention a few. Jamie’s music ranges from energetic indie to heartfelt folk rock, taking the listener by the hand and walking them through his experiences, good, bad and everything in between.

10:15pm: LONG DISTANCE OPERATORS

Long Distance Operators are a brand new 7-piece outfit that craft dynamic and catchy songs whilst bringing together the diverse influences of each member’s musical background. This will be their debut show before supporting Liverpool heavy-hitters Mexican Dogs in May and they are already creating a buzz around the city! The band are sure to bring high energy and hooks to dance to and are not one to miss!

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts was famously founded by Sir Paul McCartney, using the old building of the Liverpool Institute for Boys, where he and George Harrison attended school. In 2012 LIPA bought the Art College next door, which John Lennon attended at the time these three future Beatles began their music careers.

It’s a real privilege to be able to collaborate with such a historic and iconic institution to continue to bring new music to The Cavern Club!

LIPA Live at the Cavern are a non-profit organisation, collaborating with students from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts to allow them to perform their original music on the stage of The Cavern Club.
