The Cavern Club Live Lounge

LIPA Live at the Cavern

Monthly, original music night from LIPA students!

May’s Lineup:

FRIDA

Frida Solveig is a female solo artist from the south-east of England, currently based in Liverpool. Her debut EP, which tracks a year in her life, is sonically inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Lana Del Rey.

Frida sits within multiple genres spanning from country to pop/rock to soul. With strong, powerful vocals, an incredible live band and her staple retro sound – Frida Solveig reimagines the 70’s in her own, authentic way.

OCCASIONAL DREAMS

Occasional Dreams is an ambient indie rock band that’s been described as “a mix of shoegaze, alternative rock, heartland rock and everything in between”. Driving bass, shimmering keys, dreamy synth pads and soaring guitar comes together to create a bouquet of sounds that evoke long road trips and melancholy. They released their debut EP ‘Freeway’ last year and are now finishing their first full-length album ‘To The City’ set for release October 4th. This is music for your journey.

KATYA

Alternative pop-artist Katya Madeleine makes is inspired by the dark musical styles of Billie Eilish, Lizzy McAlpine, and Holly Humberstone. Through honest, intimate lyrics, Katya’s music navigates the unlit corners of life, whispering lessons learned about our emotions and the intricate web of human connection.

ROSCOE STREET

Welcome to “Roscoe Street”, the soundtrack to set your night on fire.

With multiple headline sets under the belt, the 6-piece outfit bridges the gap between funk, rock and R&B to provide a truly unique sound. Drawing inspiration from musical legends such as Nile Rodgers, combined with the 21st-century signwriting of artists like Parcels and Tom Misch, this Anglo-Nordic fusion brings something new to the Liverpool scene.

A mix of infectious guitar rhythms and hypnotic saxophone melodies, you’d struggle to find an onstage energy this electric anywhere else.

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts was famously founded by Sir Paul McCartney, using the old building of the Liverpool Institute for Boys, where he and George Harrison attended school. In 2012 LIPA bought the Art College next door, which John Lennon attended at the time these three future Beatles began their music careers.

It’s a real privilege to be able to collaborate with such a historic and iconic institution to continue to bring new music to The Cavern Club!

LIPA Live at the Cavern are a non-profit organisation, collaborating with students from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts to allow them to perform their original music on the stage of The Cavern Club.
