Celebrating Global Beatles Day at The Cavern
All You Need Is Love…
Today, Thursday 25 June, Beatles fans around the world are coming together to celebrate Global Beatles Day, and here at The Cavern we’re marking the occasion with a series of special activities dedicated to the music, message and enduring legacy of the Fab Four.
This evening, fans across the globe can join us online as our resident Beatles tribute band, Beatles Complete, perform a special live-streamed set direct from The Cavern Club. The performance will be broadcast across our social media channels Facebook, Instagram and TikTok from 9pm (UK time), bringing a little piece of Liverpool and Mathew Street magic directly into homes around the world.
Visitors joining our award-winning Magical Mystery Tour today will also receive a limited-edition ‘All You Need Is Love’ postcard while stocks last – a special keepsake celebrating one of The Beatles’ most iconic songs and the inspiration behind Global Beatles Day itself.
And for those looking to add a little bit of Cavern merchandise to their collection, we’re launching a 24-hour flash sale with 20% off purchases from the Cavern Store, as well as discounted tickets for the Annual Beatles Convention, taking place during this year’s International Beatleweek Festival, organised by The Cavern. Just use code GBD20 at checkout.
A Message That Still Resonates
Cavern Director Jon Keats says
“The remarkable thing about The Beatles is that their music continues to resonate with people of all ages, cultures and nationalities around the world. Nearly sixty years after ‘All You Need Is Love’ was first performed, its message of peace, love and understanding remains as relevant and inspiring as ever. In many ways it is needed more than ever right now in the world.
So many songs throughout The Beatles’ catalogue champion positivity, connection and hope. It’s a beautiful message to share with the world and Global Beatles Day shines a light on their enduring legacy. Here at The Cavern, we’re proud to celebrate it – although, if we’re honest, every day is Global Beatles Day at The Cavern!”
What is Global Beatles Day?
Global Beatles Day was founded in 2009 by American Beatles fan Faith Cohen as a worldwide celebration of The Beatles’ music, ideals and cultural impact. The date of 25th June was chosen to commemorate The Beatles’ historic performance of ‘All You Need Is Love’ during the BBC’s Our World broadcast in 1967 – the first live global satellite television programme, watched by an estimated 400 million people across 26 countries.
This year marks a significant milestone for the event, as 2026 is the first year that Global Beatles Day has received official backing from Apple Corps Ltd, The Beatles’ own company. After growing from a fan-led grassroots initiative into a worldwide annual celebration, Global Beatles Day has now been formally recognised by the organisation that manages The Beatles’ legacy.
Wherever you are in the world, however you’re celebrating, we’d like to wish you a very happy Global Beatles Day.
…Love Is All You Need.
